Community Announcement - call for nominations! A call for nominations for the Burlington150 Awards. In a year focused on celebrating our province and country, lets honour 50 women, 50 men and 50 youth who embody the qualities and values that make our province great and who have dedicated their time and talent towards community service in Burlington.

As Ontario and Canada marks 150 years, what better way to celebrate than to recognize the community builders whose contributions have made our community a place we are all proud to call home.

Burlington150 celebrates people who contribute to:
• Celebrating diversity/inclusion
• Building community/capacity
• Protecting the heritage of Burlington
• Protecting the environment
• Promoting a healthy community

I encourage you to talk to your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues to nominate anyone who makes our community a better place to live, work and play.
To be eligible, nominees do not need to live in Burlington but their work must have had a direct impact on our community. You are not limited to the number of people you wish nominate!

Nomination packages are available online or at the Constituency Office and must be submitted by September 30, 2017.

The goal of SickNotWeak is to help people understand that mental illness is a sickness, not a weakness. How do we do that? We lead by Michael's example. The more he shares, hopefully the more you will share. The more we talk about our mental health challenges, the better chance we have of erasing the stigma. On today's #Landsblog, Michael celebrates someone who did just that- Ontario Minister of Northern Development and Mines, Michael Gravelle. When we suffer in silence, everyone loses. www.SickNotWeak.com
